UK Muslim body urges CBI probe in mass grave case

The Council of Indian Muslims (CIM) in UK has sought intervention of the Central Government in the Gujarat mass grave case and has demanded a CBI probe into the issue.

Describing the Gujarat government's decision to file cases against Muslims as "outrageous" and a "travesty with justice," CIM chairman Munaf Zeena said that "this is what the minorities, especially Muslims, can expect under a fascist Chief Minister like Narendra Modi."

Several houses torched in Muzaffarpur

Several houses belonging to an extremely backward caste in Muzaffarpur district's Mahpur village were set ablaze by local Yadavs on Monday.

The incident comes close on the heels of Raghopur incident, where six members of a family were burnt alive.

Tribal blockade continues in Orissa

BhubaneswaR: Hundreds of tribals yesterday blocked roads in Orissa to protest the death of at least 12 people in a clash between police and protestors opposing construction works by a steel company.

Over 500 tribals had clashed with police on Monday at Kalinga Nagar industrial complex in Jajpur district, 120km from here, to protest the building of a boundary wall by the Tata Steel Company. Twelve tribals and a policeman died in the violence.
